ABOUT
Jerel Frey

Jerel Frey held apprenticeship positions at four separate woodworking shops before embarking on his own furniture making enterprise. In addition to that experience, he studied construction techniques of the 18th and 19th century masters. These craftsmen built furniture to last through the ages, which is why many of their works still remain today. Utilizing these same practices, namely the mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints, Jerel incorporates the same integrity into the pieces he creates: furniture that will last not only for years but for centuries.
Using timeless forms, many derived from Shaker designs, Jerel often employs exotic wood species in the pieces he builds to give them a slightly contemporary feel. This juxtaposition of traditional form with non-traditional materials is what lends these pieces a uniqueness and relevance that will have lasting beauty for generations.
